About me

I'm a .NET engineer with 8+ years of software engineering experience, including 5+ years building backend systems that keep businesses running, from banking infrastructure at First Carolina Bank to ecommerce platforms at U-Haul. I care most about writing software that's reliable and easy to maintain long after I've moved on to the next thing. I hold a Master of Science in Computer Science from Cleveland State University.

U-Haul

At U-Haul, I build and maintain C#/.NET backend services across customer, equipment inventory, availability, and communication systems, delivering production features and fixes across multiple independently deployed applications. I design and troubleshoot Kafka-based event-driven integrations, including producers, consumers, Avro schemas, and Schema Registry, while resolving data integrity issues across SQL Server and PostgreSQL.

Vibe Banking landing page
Vibe - Student Banking

Built core payment capabilities, including wire transfers, stop payments, and a Plaid integration, for Vibe, a whitelabel Banking as a Service (BaaS) platform powering student banking. Delivered the backend in C#, .NET 8, EF Core, and Dapper against Microsoft SQL Server within a microservices architecture, using Azure Functions, Blob Storage, Redis Cache, and Logic Apps for cloud-native, event-driven processing. Also shipped the corresponding mobile frontend for wire transfers and stop payments. The link below is to the marketing site, as Vibe is for student banking and requires refund selection.

T-Mobile Money landing page
T-Mobile Money

T-Mobile Money was the first project I worked on after joining First Carolina Bank. The application was already live, so most of my time went into refactoring the existing codebase to cut down on duplication and resolving bugs. The link below goes to the marketing site rather than the application itself, with more product details and screenshots.

AlarmBiller Setup dashboard
Bold Group

As a Software Engineer at Bold Group, I owned the backend and mobile app for the Time and Attendance feature of AlarmBiller, the company's billing platform for security dealers. I built APIs in .NET and C# with EF Core and Dapper against Microsoft SQL Server, and shipped the companion mobile app in Xamarin.Forms. I also contributed across the platform's billing, invoicing, work order, and workforce management workflows.

Western Enterprises Autoclave Analyzer application
Western Enterprises

Built the Autoclave Analyzer, a WPF desktop application (XAML, MVVM) for Western Enterprises that ingests and visualizes real-time temperature and pressure data from autoclave sterilization cycles, giving operators live charting alongside start/stop/reset controls to monitor the process as it runs.

AtlasBank dashboard showing account balance and navigation
AtlasBank

A personal project modeling a banking system as event-driven microservices: an API gateway fronting Customer, Account, Transaction, Card, Ledger, Notification, and Statement services, OAuth2/OIDC via Keycloak, async messaging through RabbitMQ, database-per-service on PostgreSQL, and centralized structured logging with Serilog and Seq, all containerized with Docker Compose. Live at atlasbank.dev with a React and TypeScript frontend for opening accounts, moving money, issuing cards, and pulling statements.

CommerceCore product catalog page with category filters
CommerceCore

A personal project building an ecommerce platform as 8 independently deployable .NET 10 microservices behind a YARP API Gateway, using Clean Architecture and CQRS with MediatR. The Order Service orchestrates a checkout saga across Inventory, Payment, and Shipping over Kafka with Avro schemas, and OpenTelemetry traces every request through Jaeger. Payments, shipping, and notifications use real third-party APIs in test mode (Stripe, EasyPost, Resend, Twilio). Live at commercecore.app with a working storefront and checkout.

PayFlow payment gateway architecture diagram
PayFlow

A .NET 10 payment gateway built as microservices, with distributed-systems failure modes treated as first-class design concerns: a MassTransit saga (Fraud → Authorization → Ledger) with a transactional outbox and compensating void, idempotency enforced by a database unique constraint, and a double-entry ledger with derived balances. Polly circuit breakers guard the card network, a tokenization vault and Keycloak JWTs secure every service, and OpenTelemetry ships traces, metrics, and logs to Grafana. Deployable via Docker Compose or Helm, with Testcontainers integration tests and NBomber load tests.
